I Styled My First Photo Shoot!

Happy Monday!

This past Saturday was epic. I saw my vision come to fruition and I saw my hard work off. I worked with London’s Beautii and London’s Beautii Accessories on its FIRST photo shoot EVER! I am very proud to say that. What does that mean?

I chose the models.
I chose the location.
I chose the wardrobe.
I handled the logistics of the shoot.

I did this all with London’s Beautii CEO Darlynda George. WE (teamwork) did this! I am the social media manager and brand ambassador for London’s Beautii and London’s Beautii Accessories. I wear those two hats (and many others when necessary) very proudly. There were some hiccups and some bumps. I need to and I improve when it comes to planning photo shoots because this won’t be our last. This is only the beginning. However, I am so proud of our work and I haven’t even seen the photographer‘s photos or the videographer‘s video footagr. I am just in awe of the behind the scenes (#BTS) photos and footage I took. The models are stunning and Darlynda did an AMAZING job with their hair. Shoutout to her because standing on your feet for 8 hours or more for one hairstyle is NOT EASY!

MY VISION

I immediately thought of my favorite Braxton sisters photo (pictured above) when Darlynda approached me about choosing an outfit for the models. I love this photo as well and how close the sisters are standing next to each other. They coordinate but do not necessarily match. They have different black tops, different hairstyles and different shoes. I am here for it so I wanted our models to look similar. I am normally not a fan of black but lately it’s grown on me. Black is chic and sexy. Plus, I wanted London’s Beautii hairstyles and London’s Beautii Accessories to make a STATEMENT. I also wanted a clean and natural makeup look for our models just like the Braxtons above. Their photo was literally my theme, style inspiration and MOOD for this photo shoot.

I’ll be sharing more from this photo shoot in the upcoming weeks. I’ll also be sharing tips for a successful photo shoot. I am not a pro (yet) but I think I did a great job for my first time. Could it have been better? Yes. Did I make some mistakes? Yes but I am hoping sharing those mistakes I made will help others. It’s all about learning and doing better the next time. #GROWTH
